La asociación Jóvenes Para Cristo se fundó en el estado de California en la década de los ochentas y gracias a la Bendición de Dios se ha extendido a muchos estados del país y ahora también en México. En 1978 Jóvenes Para Cristo comenzó como un grupo de jóvenes que se reunían para tener estudio de biblia en una iglesia de California y pronto empezaron a visitar presos y ancianos de los alrededores. También daban catecismo y participaban en la parroquia. En 1981 se llevó a cabo el primer retiro de iniciación donde la comunidad empezó a crecer en número y en fe. No fue hasta el año 1997 que Jóvenes para Cristo llegó a Schuyler Nebraska por medio de la hermana Ruby Pérez quien al llegar a este estado encontró que la gente asistía a misa pero le hacía falta tener un encuentro personal con Dios. Ruby Pérez nació en el estado de Michoacán México y emigro desde muy chica al estado de California donde creció y vivió su Retiro de Iniciación en Santa Ana CA, donde después fue Coordinadora. Cuando Ruby llegó a Nebraska, vió la necesidad que había, entonces habló con los líderes de Santa Ana CA. quienes apoyados también por líderes de la comunidad de Denver CO, organizaron el primer retiro de iniciación aquí en Schuyler Nebraska en 1997 el cual trajo muchas bendiciones. Año tras año se hicieron retiros y para el año 2000 se formó la primera Mesa de Coordinación parroquial siendo coordinador el hermano Ernesto Arroyo. Dos años después, en el 2002, y bajo la Coordinación del Hermano José Velásquez se abrió la segunda comunidad en la Iglesia San José en Omaha.

En el año 2006 mientras coordinaba el hermano Antonio Arellano se abrió la tercera comunidad en la iglesia San Miguel en South Sioux City. Tres años más tarde la hermana Leticia Campuzano miró la necesidad de tener una comunidad en Fremont y es así como en el 2009 en la Iglesia de San Patricio se abrió la cuarta comunidad de Nebraska bajo la coordinación de la hermana Rosa Lina Ceja. En este mismo año fue fundada la mesa Arquidiocesana por miembros de todas las comunidades. Las bendiciones de Dios han seguido y bajo su inspiración para el año 2014 y con la ayuda de las ya cuatro comunidades existentes se abrió la quinta comunidad en la Iglesia Sagrado Corazón de Norfolk. Apenas pasados dos años de la comunidad de Norfolk, se abre la sexta comunidad en la Iglesia San Buenaventura en Columbus Ne, en el año 2016 a petición de nuestro Párroco Gerry, el Padre Jairo Enrique Congote, y el apoyo del Padre Mike Swanton de esa comunidad. El Espíritu de Dios sigue trabajando en las comunidades ya existentes y animado a seguir llevando su Evangelio se abrió la séptima comunidad de esta Arquidiócesis de Omaha, en la Iglesia Santa María en West Point. La octava comunidad va a cumplir un año pronto en la ciudad de Wayne, NE, esta es hasta el momento la comunidad más reciente. Como Jóvenes Para Cristo somos concientes de que esto es Obra de Dios y que somos privilegiados al poder servirle, pues somos instrumentos suyos para llevar la Palabra a todas partes. Como asociación buscaremos siempre mantenernos unidos para que el Evangelio sea proclamado donde haya más necesidad. 

The Jóvenes Para Cristo association was founded in the state of California in the eighties and thanks to the blessing of God it has spread to many states in the country and now also in Mexico. In 1978 Jóvenes Para Cristo began as a group of young people who met to have a Bible study in a church in California and soon began to visit prisoners and elderly people in the surrounding areas. They also taught catechism and participated in the parish. In 1981 the first initiation retreat was held where the community began to grow in number and in faith. It was not until 1997 that Jóvenes Para Cristo arrived in Schuyler Nebraska through Sister Ruby Pérez who upon arriving in this state found that people attended mass but lacked a personal encounter with God. Ruby Pérez was born in the state of Michoacán Mexico. She emigrated at a very young age to the state of California where she grew up and lived her Initiation Retreat in Santa Ana CA, where she later became Coordinator. When Ruby arrived in Nebraska, she saw the need and spoke with the leaders of Santa Ana, CA, who, supported by community leaders from Denver, CO, organized the first initiation retreat here in Schuyler, Nebraska, in 1997, which brought many blessings. Year after year, retreats were held and in 2000, the first parish Coordinating Board was formed with Brother Ernesto Arroyo as coordinator. Two years later, in 2002, and under the coordination of Brother José Velásquez, the second community was opened at St. Joseph Church in Omaha.

In 2006, while Brother Antonio Arellano was coordinating, the third community was opened at San Miguel Church in South Sioux City. Three years later, Sister Leticia Campuzano saw the need to have a community in Fremont and so in 2009, the fourth community in Nebraska was opened at St. Patrick's Church under the coordination of Sister Rosa Lina Ceja. In this same year, the Archdiocesan table was founded by members of all the communities. God's blessings have continued and under His inspiration in 2014 and with the help of the four existing communities, the fifth community was opened at Sacred Heart Church in Norfolk. Just two years after the Norfolk community, the sixth community was opened at St. Bonaventure Church in Columbus, NE, in 2016 at the request of our Pastor Gerry, Father Jairo Enrique Congote, and the support of Father Mike Swanton of that community. The Spirit of God continues to work in the existing communities and is encouraged to continue spreading His Gospel, the seventh community of this Archdiocese of Omaha was opened at St. Mary's Church in West Point. The eighth community will soon be one year old in the city of Wayne, NE, this is the most recent community so far. As Youth for Christ we are aware that this is God's Work and that we are privileged to be able to serve him because we are His instruments to spread the Word everywhere. As an association, we will always seek to remain united so that the Gospel is proclaimed where there is the greatest need.
